The 55th annual Flower and Dog Show was held on a beautiful sunny day and it was still warm enough in the evening to have the community supper on the green. It started with the Fun Dog Show, organised by Yvonne Joslin. The judges had to choose winners in 14 classes and then best in show. Best Local Dog was awarded to Daisy, a golden retriever owned by Rachel Pritchard.
There were the usual village games, including the three-legged, wheelbarrow and sack races, after which Oakhanger’s May Queen, Kate Chapman, handed out the prizes.
Finella Kilner, Chairman of the Village Hall Committee, thanked everyone for all their hard work in making the day such a great success and for helping to raise so much money towards the village hall funds.
